True to tradition, DølaJazz collaborates with Galleri Zink on the festival exhibition. This year's exhibition is a memorial exhibition for Karl Johan Giskeødegård.
Karl Johan Giskeødegård was a versatile artist who expressed himself both as a musician and as a sculptor. He was an important part of the local music scene in Lillehammer and, not least, in Dølajazz, he was an important collaborator. In his art, he was concerned with form in motion that expressed rhythm as undulating movements. He was also concerned that the sculptures should be touched, and he often used the term "skin" as an important description of what it was like to touch his sculptures. In encountering the art, we meet his deeply present being. It is with great pleasure that we can present a selection of his sculptures for this memorial exhibition.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, October 16th, at 5:00 PM with musical performances by Jan Andresen and Rolv Olav Eide. The exhibition can be visited until November 2, 2025.
