Volunteers

DølaJazz is a festival run by volunteers, and the volunteers are the festival's most important resource! The festival's board is a working and voluntary board that lays the foundation for creating a great festival. The festival has a total of about 120 volunteers, and without their efforts, it would not be possible to organize DølaJazz. The registration form for Dølajazz 2026 is now updated and open!

As a volunteer, you get:
• Volunteer pass that gives access to all festival concerts (that are not sold out).
• Group leaders get their own pass that gives access to all concerts without restrictions.
• T-shirt
• Meal voucher on the days you work.
• Volunteer gathering
• 20% discount on framing at Galleri Zink during Dølajazz (this means, for example, you get 20% off the frame price if you buy framed artworks at the festival exhibition).
• 15% discount on accommodation at Breiseth Hotel throughout October + during the festival.
• 20% discount on all food and drinks from Fika coffee and smoothie bar (upon presentation of the volunteer card). Does not apply to alcohol.
• 10% discount at Husfliden Lillehammer ( does not apply for Bunad and silver)during the festival.

• 15% on Muud leather at Ulvarden during the festival.

• Certificate (if desired). Volunteer work can be useful to include on your CV.

What we expect from you:
• Show up at the agreed time and do the job you are assigned.
• How much you have to work depends on which group you are in and what time of day your shifts are. The starting point is 8–12 hours per volunteer.
• Wear the volunteer T-shirt/vest when you are on duty.
• That you do not consume alcohol or other intoxicants while on duty.
• If you see something that needs to be done, do it yourself or contact your group leader.
• Keep the audience in focus. They have paid to enjoy good music and expect us as volunteers to do our best. Be positive and friendly.

A little about the different areas:
Venue group: We have many different venues we use during the festival. Some events are during the day and others in the evening. Here there will be various tasks including audience management, ticket sales, and setting up venues. Volunteers ensure efficient and safe operation of festival activities at the various venues, focusing on audience service and safety during events.

Marketing, social media, photography: The marketing team is responsible for promoting the festival and ensuring all public information is updated and engaging, especially on digital platforms such as websites and social media. In addition to putting up posters in the city and region. During the festival, there is a need for photographers and videographers to document the events. We will create creative content that can be shared on social media. There will also be a need for some volunteers before the festival.

Decoration: We will decorate the city and venues to show that there is a festival in town. In addition, there will be some decoration at the various venues we use. The work with decoration starts several days before the festival and often continues throughout the festival for any adjustments.

Transport, rigging, technical, runner: The transport team is responsible for all transport of equipment and personnel, including artists, during the festival. The team ensures efficient and safe transport to and from the festival areas. Sometimes extra help is needed to move things between locations, so it is desirable to have someone who can also act as a runner.

Backstage: The backstage team ensures a well-functioning and inviting backstage area for both artists and volunteers. The team is responsible for purchasing, setting up, and maintaining the backstage areas, as well as coordinating food deliveries.

Stand: The stand group aims to increase awareness of and engagement for Dølajazz and Jazzincubator by being visible in the city, promoting the festival, creating life and atmosphere, and selling tickets.
