Unique master meeting replaces canceled concert

15.10.2026

When the cancellation became known, DølaJazz profile and saxophonist Magnus Bakken took the challenge head-on. The task was simple, yet ambitious: Put together a duo with one of the festival's musicians. The choice fell on none other than drummer Gard Nilssen, one of the country's most sought-after and renowned jazz musicians.

The most exciting part? The two have never played together as a duo before.

When Bakken and Nilssen meet on stage during the festival, it will be for the very first time. The audience can therefore expect a genuine musical encounter in the moment, where improvisation, interplay, and spontaneity are at the center.

This is the concert for those who like jazz at its most vibrant and unpredictable. Don't miss the unique opportunity to experience two strong musical voices in a masterful meeting out of the ordinary.

Welcome to a concert that can only happen once.
