Pihl & Gjone // Kulturelle Spaserstokken

Pihl & Gjone is an acoustic duo based in Oslo and Lillehammer, known for their warm
interpretations of classics and original songs within the folk, singer/songwriter, and ballad traditions. With
two voices that blend naturally and an interplay refined over nearly 30 years, the duo creates an intimate and melodic concert experience.

The duo consists of Lasse Pihlstrøm (b. 1980) and Andreas Gjone (b. 1981), who met in
their youth through skiing and football – and quickly discovered a shared fascination for music and a unique chemistry in their musical collaboration. This became the start of a partnership that has followed them throughout their lives.

Pihl & Gjone is guitar-based, harmony-driven, and melody-focused. Their repertoire ranges from
original ballads to reinterpretations of evergreen songwriters like Simon & Garfunkel, as well as
selected songs from the pop and ballad tradition. The music is presented up close and unadorned, with lyrics
and melody clearly at the center.

For DølaJazz, the duo puts together a cohesive and listener-friendly program – a harmonious
half hour with well-known and beloved ballads and original songs from a long musical friendship, arranged
for two guitars and two-part vocals.
